April 2015 Favorites!

Because why stop buying makeup, ever?!

I am well aware that we are well into May... but I'm allowing myself a grace period.

I considered making a video of these... but then thought "they don't need to hear me blabber on about what I like" and decided a good old fashioned post would be just as satisfactory.

So here goes: a couple of the products that I have been loving / obsessed with for the month of April. I try to mention new items, so don't think that anything I have mentioned before is no longer a favorite. I just wouldn't want to bore you all by talking about MAC Soft and Gentle highlighter every month for the rest of my life.

In no particular order:

MAKEUP FOREVER Pro Sculpting Duo #2

$39.00 {Check it out here}
This is an unreal highlighter.  This is the kind of glow you can see from outer space. I'm not stoked about the bronzer, as it is a little too orange, but I think the highlighting portion of this is worth it!

Ardell Demi Whispies

$4.00 {Check it out here}
The ultimate natural lash. These look good with any eye look, any eye shape, and any occasion. I forgot how much I loved them before I used them on all of the bridesmaids I did this month. I usually get a multipack and end up saving even more money.

MAC Green Gel Cleanser

$21.00 {Check it out here}
I know that I just did a post about this, but I absolutely needed to mention it. I have been using this every night and I love how it has cleared my skin. We also sell travel sizes for $10.00 if you want to try before you buy!

Arcona Magic Dry Ice

$52.00 {Check it out here}
This stuff is some serious business. I have ridiculously dry skin, and when I need that extra push that I know without a doubt will hydrate me, I use this. Pricy, yes. But totally worth it. The hylauronic acid and fructooligosaccharides help to lock in moisture and leave your skin feeling hydrated and restored.

Arcona Mandarin Brightening Peel

$78.00 {Check it out here}
I use this twice a week, and I can visibly notice a difference in my skin. 6 minutes is all that it takes to work. This targets uneven skin tone, texture, and scars. It is a peel, so be careful if you have very sensitive skin, but I cannot recommend any skin care line over Arcona, and this is one of my favorite products.

Estee Lauder Perfectionist Foundation

$45.00 {Check it out here}
This is such a random foundation for me to like, but I do. Rather, I love it. I haven't used anything but this and Matchmaster for a very, very long time. This has the same amazing coverage as Double Wear, but with a more hydrating feel. Again, Miss Dry Skin over here loves her moisturizing products. This applies beautifully, looks stunning, and every day people come up to me and literally say "your skin looks perfect." No matter what. It is a gorgeous finish.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette

$30.00 {Check it out here}
This is such a unique color selection, and the quality is, as always, amazing. I wouldn't say that this is for everybody, but I have been getting creative and making some pretty cool looks. If you like to experiment with color, you can do a lot with this palette.

MAC Mineralized Blush - Warm Soul

$27.00 {Check it out here}
This is a cult favorite, and with good reason. I wear this almost everyday. I put this on almost every client. It is a beautiful, warm toned rose with a hint of shimmer that makes everyone who wears it look glowy.

Clear Skin: Two Products

Hi guys... I have been MIA and I apologize.

What else has been MIA, you ask? Well, my acne. To be honest, I have never had perfectly clear skin. But as of lately, I have toned down my extremely long skincare routine to just two products, and I feel and look way better.

First, I remove my makeup as I normally would. I use the Josie Maran Cleansing Oil, which I have a review of in my previous posts. But I am not counting that as one of the products, because sometimes I am lazy and just use Dove soap in the shower, and my makeup comes off just the same.

I'll get to the good stuff:
My cleanser and moisturizer are everything right now.
I have been using the MAC Green Gel Cleanser and Cetaphil Cream.

That is it. Two products!
This cleanser is insane. It leaves my skin feeling SQUEAKY clean... I'm talking baby just born clean, and then I slap on my moisturizer and I am good to go.
I do have extremely dry skin, and this cleanser is drying because it is so hard on acne, but it doesn't affect me negatively whatsoever if I apply my moisturizer. If you have acne or oily skin that you want to dry up, go pick up this cleanser. You will love it!
The moisturizer is a pretty standard house hold item. I have been using this for years. It is affordable, you can pick it up from the drugstore, it lasts forever, and it WORKS. I do prefer the cream because it is much thicker, but if you have oily skin, just try out the plain old Cetaphil Lotion, which is a little lighter.

I hope this was helpful, and that in time you too will feel good in your bare skin!

Spring Time Glam Tutorial

Hi everybody! Wow - it has been a minute since I've posted.
After surviving my finals (though I didn't think it possible...), I am going to get back in to the groove of things.

I wore this look on Easter, as well as a couple days of work (with the new MAC is Beauty collection), and I adore it.

I'm sorry for the lack of pictures, my computer broke and I am currently typing on my brand new MacBook, which is exhilarating. Spending so much money really makes you appreciate the little things!

Without further ado, please check out my latest tutorial :)
Hope everyone had a very special and happy Easter.

MOTD: Graphic Lines and Double Wings!

I had a lot of fun creating this look - and everybody thought that it was way harder than it actually was. All I did was carve out my crease with a brown shadow, cleaned up the outer part with makeup remover and a white eyeliner, and then did the usual wing with Inglot black gel liner. It was so simple, and I was getting compliments nonstop.

Try it out - you will feel like a professional.

MOTD- Hippie Theme at the Counter

We are trying to do more theme days at my counter, because not only do they challenge our creativity as artists, but bring everyone together and really get the customers interested in what we are doing.

This was Hippie Theme, and I had so much fun with it. I chose a really defined cut crease with a double wing, and put warm colors on my top lid and cool colors on my bottom. I would wear this everyday!

New Eyes on MAC Collection!

Hi friends! ;
Sorry I have been so MIA on here.. I promise to be better :)
Beginning with this:

The New Eyes on MAC Collection!

We are selling soooo quickly... if you are interested at all, come down. I believe that the MAc stores, the counters at Nordstrom, and the counters at Macy's are all selling these things, except for the Nordstroms exclusive palette.

There are 7 pieces in the collection: 4 9x shadow palettes, and 3 15x shadow palettes. There are a wide variety of colors to choose from. In the pictures below, I am wearing every single shadow from the burgundy x9 palette.. a little excessive, but I just had to play with it.

Here are the pros:
Every shadow is of the same quality that we sell. I have heard rumors that our paletted shadows are of a lesser quality, and that is absolutely not true!
The little palettes are only $40... which is insane.
The larger palettes are only $85.... which is just absurd! Each shadow sells for $16, so if you were to buy them all, they would be (15)(16) = $240!!! I myself bought the Nordstroms exclusive palette.

Which one to buy?
The smaller palettes are for two types of people: You don't wear much makeup, but want to have something for the off chance that you go out and wear it, or if you have a lot of makeup, and don't want to spend too much money.
I would recommend the larger palettes, which are a better value, for those of you who are either in love with makeup and want to continue on an existing collection, or need a great variety of colors to play around with.

There are three large palettes: Cool toned, Warm toned, and the Nordstrom's Exclusive.

The Nordstrom Exclusive is here:

Shades are:
This is good for EVERYONE. This palette has all the top shadows that we sell everyday at Nordstrom's MAC counters. I am in love with this. This is perfect for a girl who doesn't have a lot of makeup, for someone who wants to build a kit, or for someone who just wants to add to their collection of already amazing shadows. I recommend this palette, and this is what I sell more than anything else in the collection.

The Cool palette is here:

Shades are:
This is good for cooler toned skins with pink or neutral undertones who like silvers and greys.

The Warm palette is here:

Shades are:
This is wonderful for more olive, warm toned skins who love golds and bronzes.

In these pictures, I am wearing every shade from the Burgundy Palette somewhere on my eyes! (Which is bottom left in the picture!)

Comment if you have any questions! XOXO

My Biggest Regrets - Makeup Wise

Hey everyone!
While we all must have hella regrets - outfits, hairstyles, boyfriends, ring back tones - today I'm going to focus on the beauty products that I regret purchasing.

I went through my makeup collection and picked the items that I should have not spent my hard earned money on!

Hopefully this will be able to guide some of you away from purchasing things that do not live up to the hype.

*sidenote: maybe you like some of these things - do not be offended. Thanks.

New Foundation Alert

There is never a time that I am not on the hunt for a foundation, because I don't believe there is such a thing as the perfect one. This is kind of a hellish cycle, but I have fun on it, so it's okay.

I recently picked up the brand new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. (With a name like that, it must be good.) I was so excited, because this is the first full coverage foundation NARS has come out with. They have the classic Sheer Glow formula, but that is truly a light to medium coverage at best, and your girl over here needs her coverage.

My Color: Punjab
Cost: $48.00
Finish: Dewey
Coverage: Completely Full
Texture: Thin and Light
Works with: All Skin Types
What It Promises: "Full, natural-looking coverage with unexpectedly weightless, 16-hour wear. Highly pigmented and perfectly balanced, this breakthrough formula builds and blends effortlessly with just one drop—the result of exclusive innovation uniquely designed to deliver long-wearing full coverage, weightlessly. Shake, pump and blend in sections for complete coverage that's completely natural looking"
Does It Deliver: Absolutely
Color Selection: Full

This truly is a light feeling product, so weightless that it almost feels weird to look in the mirror and see such full pigmentation, because you don't feel anything on your skin. I loved the natural, dewey finish, and it stayed so well on me for the entire evening.

I don't have pictures at the moment of the product on my skin, but I will be using it in the next tutorial. I am obsessed, and for good reason. Hope you all can run out to Sephora and grab a sample! You won't be disappointed!

Valentines Day! Simple and Girly Makeup

Hi everyone! I uploaded this this morning so that you can get some inspiration! I am at work at MAC right now, so I can't really give a detailed description of the products. But if you're interested in my take on a Valentine's Day makeup look, watch the video! XOXOXO
