A Random Haul!

Hi Friends

I filmed this haul last week because I was so stoked about what I got that day, and I totally forgot to edit it until this morning. Silly Hannah.

Anyways, if you are unfamiliar with the concept of a makeup haul, it is basically just an overview of what the person has bought in that time period. I absolutely love these videos because they are really carefree and give you an idea of what that specific person looks for when they're shopping for makeup, as well as new products that maybe you would want to try to.

If this isn't your cup of tea, that's okay. Drink some coffee and I will see you in my next post.

A Little Sexier Than Ariel

Hi!

I know that mermaids are typically blonde with wavy hair and blue eyes, but Ariel was a ginger, so I thought that gave me creative reign to design any type of mermaid that I wanted!

This is what I came up with :)

(((if you just wanna watch the transformation, mute my voice and play your own music. Ayyyy turn up.)))

The first time I did it, it was midnight and I couldn't sleep, which is why the lighting is a little below standard. The plain silver jewels also gave it a much different look than with the colorful ones, but I wanted to try out both! If you wanted to recreate this for Halloween, tweak it to however you feel comfortable. Maybe contour a little less. Add different colors. Don't add jewels. Anything.

I just think this is super fun and glamorous and different.

Have fun beautiful people!

PS: A little tip for anyone who doesnt wanna spend money on a full out costume: if you put makeup on your neck and chest collerbone area, it really takes the drama up and makes it look like you put it a lot more effort than you did!

One of the BIGGEST Reasons I Love MAC

Greetings Friends!
I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a hot minute... I had sorority recruitment and the absolute only thing I wanted to do was sleep. All. Day. Long.

But I am back! And I am so excited to post again, because this is a topic that is so dear to me.

Right off the bat, I know that this is a slightly longer article, and if you don't want to read it, that's totally fine. I'm going to summarize the key points so that if you are one of those lazy readers, you can get the jist of what I am so passionate about.

-HIV/AIDS is a socially stigmatized epidemic that should not be taboo, but is.

-MAC Cosmetics has a line... the Viva Glam line... dedicated solely to the fundraising for those affected with HIV/AIDS everywhere in the world.

-Every penny from each sale of the Viva Glam lipstick or lipglass goes directly to the foundation

-I encourage everyone to think about purchasing something from this line, because not only are the products gorgeous and MAC quality, they are supporting so much more than your own beauty.

-For more information, click the link here MAC AIDS FUND!

As many of you know, I was recently hired by MAC cosmetics, which is honestly a dream come true for a makeup artist. In the first interview, they asked me, "Why MAC?" and I genuinely responded with "It's the best."
Because it is. MAC is innovative, and ahead of it's time, and when I think about makeup as an art form, and not just a means of covering up ones face, I think of MAC.

Aside from the fact that this company is a world renowned empire, the philanthropic services promoted by the brand made me love it even more.

The one that I was drawn to the most was the Viva Glam Line. It is a lipstick and lipglass collection that is the face of the MAC AIDS Fund, established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic globally. It provides financial support to organizations "working with undeserved regions and populations." What I find so inspiring about it is that it addresses the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS, something we don't think about much.

Since it's release, MAC has launched seven exclusive Viva Glam product lines, featuring celebrities like RuPaul, Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Dita Von Teese, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and most recently Rihanna, as well as many, many more amazing people that have allowed their famous names to be tied to something so important.

To date, the MAC AIDS Fund has raised $315 million US dollars exclusively through the sale of MAC's Viva Glam Lipstick and Lipglass. 100% of the sales of each product go directly to the foundation.

I do know people who have been affected by, as well as infected with HIV/AIDS, and it is such a real, life changing circumstance that no one can be prepared for. If not treated with the right amount of love, respect, and compassion, it can be a catastrophic and damaging disease mentally, not only physically.

One of the things that I pride myself on is my ability to love on everyone. I truly believe that every person on this planet is equal, because you are an insanely lucky and blessed person just based on the fact that you can breathe. It absolutely breaks my heart when I see society stigmatize anything that cannot be controlled - the most recent being the ebola outbreak. Don't even get me started on that. If you are the type of person that can find humor in someone else's 50% chance of fatality, I want nothing to do with you.

AIDS is so important to me because it is often viewed in a negative light, in relation to filthiness, a lack of respect, and nasty sexual jokes, that of which I cannot stand to be around. The stigma and discrimination genuinely infuriates me.

What I found to be so incredibly inspiring about the MAC AIDS Fund is the sheer fact that a globally successful company would tie itself to such a taboo subject, because they are above the stigma and discrimination, because they are able to acknowledge the truth about the heartbreaking disease. What's more than the simple success of the brand is the fact that this is a makeup line... this is a company dedicated to art, beauty, and individuality, all of which are not generally in line with what people think about HIV/AIDS.

MAC is amazing to me because they have taken a step forward, and with their success in the beauty world, associated themselves with a topic that most people sweep under the rug. They have tied their empire to that of the needy, the people that require our love and attention and support and who most often do not receive it.

It is such an honor to be a part of a company like this. I am sorry if I rambled, but I am so incredibly passionate about the equality of people and fight against discrimination.

A little about how the foundation actually works will be linked here: HOW IT WORKS!
And I really recommend checking it out.

The Quickest Absorbing Vitamin C Serum Ever

Surprise!!!!!

Another Skin Care Day

I have been using a serum for a while now, and can finally comment on how much I love it. I was so excited to do this review.

If any of you have ever heard of the Truth Serum from Ole Henriksen, you are probably familiar with it's benefits and results. It is a Vitamin C serum that makes your skin glow, prevents aging, and overall look better.
I would use it everyday if it wasn't so expensive, but it is, and I am not about to pay that much.

I have been using the RevitaVie Serum... and I am in love. Not only does it do everyday that the Henriksen does, but even more, and it absorbs SO QUICKLY. I swear I put it on, blink, and my skin is completely soft, without any remaining oil.

Results generally take 2 - 8 weeks to see, but I swear I noticed my skin changing in 1. I am so happy with it. Call me crazy, but the vitamin c even helped clear my skin and fade the scars.

This product is extremely stable, and has a long shelf life because it uses microencapsulation to protect the vitamins C, E, and A that it contains! Which, in non science terms, means it lasts a LONG time.

Not only does it incorporate into any skin care routine easily, as it is for all skin types, but it sits so beautifully under makeup. I am picky about what products I use on my face before foundation, because a lot of skin care items tend to cause the foundation to break apart during the day.

I will link the product HERE
it is on sale for only $25.00 ... wow

and I really, really hope you guys check it out! I'm in love.

$6.00 Concealer - Hides Anything

Ayyyyyyoooo! Dupe time.

(For those of you who do not know what a dupe is:
dupe1
d(y)o͞op/

noun
  1. 1.
a beauty product that resembles a high end product in performance and look but is significantly cheaper.
"this cheap concealer works just like the MAC one... its a perfect dupe."
    synonyms:steal, bargain, win, overall success

Okay, now on to the fun.

Many of you are well aware that I am a concealer freak, and I try any that I can get my hands on. My favorites of late have been the MAC Pro Longwear, the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer, and the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage,
(all of which I will link here: MAC Tarte Laura Mercier ) , which range in price from $24 - $34. Yikes.

I never really go to Walmart, which is the only place to buy Hard Candy Cosmetics products, for two main reasons:
1- It is slightly out of the way and I am too impatient. I don't know how the biggest chain store in America could be out of the way, but it is.
2- After watching the South Park episode on Walmart, I will never be the same.

However, I chose to get over those two fears because I have been wanting to try this concealer for a while, after hearing great reviews about it from other makeup freaks,

So I went. I survived. And now I have a prize - a $6 concealer that is JUST as full coverage and pigmented as my favorites.

CHECK IT OUT HERE
and look... it's even an animal friendly product :)

It reminds me mostly of the Tarte Concealer, because it is that same super thick, almost goopy consistency that miraculously blends out perfectly.
The only complaint  I have is the color selection... I wish they weren't all so absurdly yellow. I am not a sunflower.

Anyways! I have taken some pictures of how I use this concealer to highlight my face, while hiding the blemishes and undereye circles I have at the same time.

XO humans.

Amrezy Pink and Purple! Sandwiched Eye Technique

Pretty people! Here is a look I created using the Amrezy Palette... again. I am obsessed. It's not a big deal.

Don't forget to subscribe if you have a youtube channel :)

The main colors are Glisten and Iridescent Purple.. I will swatch them here:

The pop of color in the middle of the eye is a great way to make your eyes look bigger, more awake, and rounder. I also did this exact same look using the colors Emerald and Legend, because why not. It turned out just as pretty.

Be patient when packing on the colors, building up pigment is quite a task.

Thank you guys so so much for watching, and I can't wait to get up some Halloween tutorials.

Stop: Sigma Kabuki Dupe Alert

Hi pretties :)

I have another brush review for ya'll... and I am so stoked to have finally found some items that can compare to the ever famous Sigma products.

If you have been looking into the makeup world for any time in the recent history, chances are you know what the Sigma Kabuki Brush Line is...
(if not, don't feel bad, and I will link it here. It's okay, young grasshopper)

Well, I have been trying out these brushes from New8Beauty, and not only are they vegan and soft and gorgeous, they truly live up the standard of Sigma.

-Flat top Kabuki
-this is my favorite to use on clients

-Pointed Kabuki
-This is my favorite to blend out under eye concealer

-Angled Kabuki
-This is an all around amazing blending brush for any product, not just foundation

My favorite Sigma brush is the F88, the flat angled kabuki. I apply any liquid foundation with it, and it glides on so smoothly. When I tried the New8Beauty brush, I was so shocked to find that I actually liked it better.
The only difference is the surface area of the fibers, the Sigma brush having a little less. I'll show you in the pictures. But the density, softness, and quality is the same.
I like having a bigger area on the brush head to apply my foundation because I find that it makes the process even faster. I woke up late yesterday and literally finished my foundation in 30 seconds. That's a record.
Here is a picture of the two of them side by side:

I will be using all of these brushes in my tutorials to come, but I recommend checking them out sooner and getting a good feel for them :)

You can find them on Amazon HERE
and on their personal beauty store HERE

love, love, love you guys <3 XO
