Creativity Challenge: 3D Color

This was a fun one! I outlined the stars and bolts with a black gel liner from Makeup Geek, then with a fan brush, picked up black to flick outwards, slowly building color and pigment.
I then moved on to a deep purple, and over that I used a pigment from Makeup Geek called "Vegas Lights" and a gold  pigment from NYX.

On the lips, I used a black eyeliner, Cyber lipstick from MAC, and the same gold pigment from NYX in the center. I love how it turned out. I wish it was acceptable to do this on a daily basis.

Be creative!

Breaking News: Hairspray for the Face

Make Your Makeup Last All Day

It sounds weird... but it works.

OVERVIEW:
What it promises: Serious staying power, temperature control technology, microfine mist, a nonsticky feel.
Who is it for: all skin types, anyone who wears makeup
Price: $30.00 for 4oz

Setting sprays have been making a rise for a while now. Some artists can't live without them, while others speak of their irrelevance.  I am somewhere in between. After trying them out to form my own opinion, I can say that I love them.
I am not obsessed, and I do not think that they are necessary for everyday, but if you are looking for a product to truly improve the lasting power of your makeup, there are a couple of really good setting sprays on the market that will do just that.
My favorite is the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray (FOUND HERE)

All you do is complete your makeup as desired, close your eyes, spray 3-5 times all over your face, and let the product absorb. It will set the makeup, remove any excess oil or powder look, and leave your skin looking a little less "cakey."
There are three different kinds of Urban Decay Sprays, all promising different things, but the All Nighter is the one I love because it truly lasts all night.  Chill Makeup will help those of you who tend to sweat off your makeup easily, and De-Slick is good for oily skins.

These are pictures of my makeup when freshly applied before work at 9am, and after work (with no touch ups) 10 hours later at 7pm. Forgive the lighting in the later pictures, it was dark outside. However, I think you can tell that the makeup really did stay all day, even though I was on my feet constantly running around, getting product, helping customers, and applying makeup on people. After 10 hours, my makeup does NOT look this good without a setting spray.

Some other options that I have tried and loved!
-Skindinavia Model in a Bottle
(Skindinavia is the same brand that produces the Urban Decay Spray)
-Loreal Setting Spray (drugstore price!)
-Makeup Forever Mist and Fix
-MAC Fix+

Try these out guys! I promise you'll love them<3

Creativity Challenge - Flowers

I have decided to take it upon myself, in an attempt to further my creativity and skill, to challenge myself at least once a week to do a makeup look that is fun and different! These are not going to be filmed as tutorials, because I don't really know where I'm going when I start, but I will post them so that those of you out there interested in the more colorful and random side of makeup can get some inspiration. :)

I used my normal skin routine, heavy contouring, and a lot of concealer. I filled in the petals with all Morphe shadows (HELLA pigmented), and used my favorite NYX silver glitter liner to line my lashes. The lip combination is a mixture of the teal and magenta creams from my Makeup Forever Flash Palette :)

Forest Green Smokey Eye

Dat Green Green

Green Smokey Eye using a MAC pigment and lots of warm toned browns!

Hi my lovely friends... and family that I force to support me :) This is a tutorial of one of my favorite looks - a smokey eye using a color other than black. Green is going to make every single eye color stand out - especially green or hazel eyes. Feel free to use this technique with any color on the lid.

This is a super simple way of doing a smokey eye- just building up darker colors on top of lighter colors -  and I genuinely believe everyone can do this.

Hope you enjoy :) Feel free to leave suggestions for what looks you want next!
Love You

Holiday Palette Review - Kat Von D Star Studded

This holiday season, I decided to treat myself (like I do even when it isn't the holiday season). I had been eyeing the two Kat Von D palettes at Sephora for forever, but I could never decide which to pick and  made it a much bigger deal than it should have been. When this limited edition holiday palette came out, I made up my mind to get it, and I am so glad I did.

This is just a little review, some swatches, and my thoughts on the shadows. Overall I give it an A. (Not an A+ because there is one I don't like..  but that is okay.)

It retails for $55.00, which isn't that bad considering you get 24 eyeshadows.

This is a limited palette.,. so go check it out at Sephora! Play around with the colors. You won't be disappointed. My favorite part was all of the matte shades. They are so DANG pigmented I didn't know what to do except buy it.

Here it is on Sephora.com ...

Hope you guys like it :) Happy Holidays <3

Makeup Forever Flash Palette - For Your Entire Face

Greetings!!!

I don't know how many of you have heard of the Makeup Forever Flash Palette... (FOUND HERE), but it is truly worth a look if you are at all interested in art and creativity.

Just looking at the bright colors, it is apparent that this can be used to do some crazy, brilliant looks. But I wanted to show that you can really do ANY type of look with this palette. I filmed myself doing my entire face of makeup - foundation, concealer, contour, blush, eyes, and lips - with just this palette, some mascara, and a little setting powder.

Obviously, this is an investment, and I wouldn't review something that I didn't think was super interesting. If you are on a budget, maybe skip out on this purchase - it is not necessary. But if you have an extra 100 bucks to spend, you are creative, or you want to start building a makeup kit, this is an awesome palette.

XOXO

Victorias Secret Angel

Who doesn't want to look like this?
I DO

Victoria's Secret Angels always look flawless... and the makeup is kept simple and fresh. This is an everyday beautiful sort of look, one that may require more makeup than it actually looks like!
It is really easy - I would say beginner level - and looks good on everybody.

So maybe you can't get that perfect body, the abs and sun kissed skin, but you can get the face! So eat a doughnut with me, feel good in your skin, and come along!

Newest Obsessons

PRODUCTS. YES.

Disclaimer: I know that the word obsession is tossed about and overused... and this is just another example of that. Sorry, I'm a 20 year old girl with language issues.

I have compiled a list of products that I have recently been either using everyday, fell in love with again, or am just strangely obsessed with. There is a big mix of skin care and makeup, as well as one little perfume purchase that I am stoked about.

Here's the video! It's kind of long, but that's because I have this compelling desire to explain why I love each thing. Sorry if that's too extravagant - just fast forward :)

I hope you find some things that you are interested in trying! Also, don't forget that if something can be found in Sephora or MAC, go get a sample before you commit to a purchase. Makes life a lot easier.

XOXO
